EDC, Linkup

EDC (Every Day Carry)

Kayla and I are what you call Preppers, and one basic part of being a Prepper is trying to be prepared all the time. So I have what is called a EDC, or a Every Day Carry. It is what I carry every day, to be as prepared as I can be. It is fairly basic what I carry. Some people carry more in bags with them all the time, much like women have been doing forever with purses. What I carry is on my person, in pockets, attached to my belt or around my wrists.

On my wrists...
Casio G-Shock 5600 Solar Powered.
Paracord Bracelet, or survival bracelet.

Casio G Shock Watches are known in the Prepper community for being the most rugged watches you can buy, Rolex's have nothing on these watches. If your going to be in any kind of situation where you might damage a watch, like construction, or you are a avid outdoors man/women then I suggest these watches. Been beating on this one for 2 years, and its still going.

The paracord bracelet that I wear is special, and is not your ordinary paracord bracelet. It was a gift from Kayla for Valentines day, and it has a secret. The bracelet is made by Logan Survival Gear on Etsy. It is a Fishing tackle Paracord Bracelet, features 7+ feet of paracord, 30 feet of fishing line, 2 hooks, and 2 sinkers.

My EDC during work hours...
Orange Slim Fold Wallet
Orange Leatherman Juice S2
Bic Lighter (not a smoker, its just in case)
Lip Balm
Car Keys
Terralux Light Star 80 Flashlight

My EDC during off work hours...
Orange Slim Fold Wallet
Orange Leatherman Juice S2
Bic Lighter (not a smoker, its just in case)
Lip Balm
Car Keys
Bianchi Leather Gun Belt
Cheapy flashlight, but still very bright.
Spyderco Manix 2 Folding knife, Made in Golden Colorado $$$
Semper Aye Holster, Reviewed here.
SCCY CPX 2 9mm Pistol

I also have a cell phone at all times it is not pictured, but it is a Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro.

That is my EDC, I carry it every where I go. We just got back from vacation and I was unable to carry a handgun out of State. I substituted my handgun for a 1.3oz can of Cold Steel Inferno Pepper Spray, which I did not get to use.

  1. Your blog is really the first one I've followed with Prepping in it. Really like the way you guys explain it.
I'm not a Prepper, but I usually have lip balm, a first aid kit, nail clippers, sometimes a sewing kit...my father would be annoyed that my list didn't include a swiss army knife, a compass and a flashlight, but I'm usually bogged down with toddler stuff. :o)
This makes me want to reorganize the bag I used to keep in my car. That paracord bracelet sounds pretty fantastic.

  2. I never knew there was a term for it....awesome! Fedora and I have EDC, as well, though I rarely wear my paracord bracelet (or any)- it glows in the dark, but doesn't have fishing line, hooks, or sinker (what a great idea!). We always carry blades (mine is a basic Swiss army, his is a tricked-out Leatherman), drugs for just about everything, bandages, protein bars, etc. We need to work on getting our EDC better (and work on our bug-in supplies and bug-out bags). Thanks for the tips on what you carry!
