Grandma... I Miss You

I know I have neglected the Blogging Every Day in May Challenge for the past several days, I am not making excuses but I have been battling a head cold to end all head colds (In my personal experience!) So Forgive me or send the Blogging Police if you must but I am back to tell you what I miss for Day #12 of the Blogging Challenge.

I miss my Paternal Grandmother. I have mentioned her in this post.
I spent TONS & I mean TONS of time at my grandparents house.

If you read the previous post about my grandmother you will also know that my grandmother passed away on my birthday.  As a memorial I got a tattoo this year to express how much my grandmother meant to me. Both of us LOVED horses. She paid for me to take riding lessons and horse camp. She was always telling me stories about growing up on "the Hill" (Terry Hill in Fairly, VT) with her mother, grandmother and brother. Her father died when she was 3 years old. I learned at her knee how our family history. I also learned my love of DILLY BEANS, my grandmother used to can homemade Dilly Beans every summer. What are beans you ask? They are the greatest thing on EARTH! I can make them myself but they are definitely not my grandma's.

  1. I'm sorry for your loss. She sounds like an amazing person. I love your tattoo, such a great tribute to her memory!

  2. How wonderful that you were so close to her! I love that she passed recipes and family history on to you, like a proper matriarch. :D
And I do hope you feel better soon!
