What is more Home Grown than FRESH EGGS?
That's right you heard me FRESH EGGS! Our love bunch of chickens have started laying!

Well one of the hens has started to lay eggs. I have my suspicions on who decided to start paying for her keep.
Here are some tips on telling if you hens are getting ready to lay eggs...
Well Kathy form The Chicken Chick wrote this wonderfully informative post about
When Will a Hen Begin Laying Eggs? What to Expect.

This was Goldie at the end of June.
As you can see That Goldie has a very red comb and wattle. which begin to darken when they are getting ready to start laying eggs.
Goldie has darkened comb and wattles. CHECK

As Kathy says you can expect them to start doing the submissive squat when you go to pet them. This basically means they are ready to mate with a rooster. A sign that they are getting ready to lay.
Goldie has been doing this for the past week or so. CHECK
So ALL in ALL, I believe that Goldie is the most likely suspect because she is the only one to do the SQUAT!

Would you ever want to raise chickens?
Have you ever had home grown eggs?
