New Horizons!

A Little less than a month ago I was fortunate enough to lose my job. When I say fortunate, I mean fortunate! I worked for a horrible company that treats there employees like trash, and thought our time was almost worthless. I am not going to say who I worked for but I used to be a Mechanical Insulator for a company based out of South Burlington VT, they still owe me a substantial amount of money because they weren't paying me for all my hours worked and they got caught by the Federal Dept of Labor.

It took me a whopping 6 days to be back to work with a wonderful company that seems to value my time, and compensate me well. I am the newest employee at Bristol Electronics, which is a whopping 6 minutes from my house. No more driving 2+ hours for work. No more getting up at 3:00am and getting home at 6:00pm. Bristol Electronics is one of Vermont's only companies that installs Solar Panel Systems. I am now doing work that I am proud of, and its something that actually makes a difference.

My first completed job
Second Completed job
There are only plus sides to me losing my job. I now get to spend more time with family, solar installing is more physical and I get to spend most of my working hours outdoors. There are so many aspects to installing solar from basic landscaping, concrete, installing panels and even wiring.
My very first breaker box at the panels.
I even get to drive a excavator.

The most exciting stuff is still to come. Liam is due in days! I am sure there will be a update on that as soon as that happens.

  2. Congratulations on finding a healthier working environment! I hope Kayla is doing well, and that the two of you love (almost) every moment of being parents. Sorry I couldn't attend the baby shower - I am working on some knitting for Liam, however. - Sara

  4. YAY! Congratulations! I love when Fate happens like that. And how awesome that you get to install solar systems! Fedora and I have been figuring out how we can run our future tiny house on a solar system. Work you believe in...that's priceless.
